Aiken is a mid-sized city on the border of South Carolina and Georgia. The town is located along the Savannah River. The city experiences mild winters and hot summers. Generally, the most comfortable months are October, May and April. July is the most uncomfortable. Despite its name, Aiken is one of the most beautiful cities in the state. Its beautiful historic homes, abundant wildlife and gardens make it a great place to live, visit and do business.

Aiken's population is spread out, with nearly half under the age of 18 and one-third over the age of 65.
