Telford, Tennessee Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

In addition to being located in Montgomery County, Telford is a part of two counties: Bucks and Montgomery. The city was formed in 1935 by merging the towns of East and West Telford. It has three churches on Main Street and one on Third Street. Although it's small in comparison to other areas in Montgomery County, Telford has more churches than any other city. The city was originally named Telford after Scottish Civil Engineer James Telford, who had helped develop the town. Before the railroad came through, Telford was known as County Line. Before the railroad came through, the town consisted of just a few houses, a blacksmith's shop, and a farm. Once the railroad came, however, the city began to grow. The town became a vibrant community and is now home to more than 10,000 people.

The population of Telford is roughly 5000 people, with a majority of residents being White. There are 91 Two+ non-Hispanic residents, and 29 Black or African American residents. Although these are not the largest ethnic groups in the city, these numbers represent a significant proportion of the community. In fact, more than half of the population is White. After the black and Native American populations, there are two other racial groups that make up Telford's population.
