College Station, Texas, is the flagship campus of Texas A&M University. Its location along a railroad line has given the city its name. The university is a Land-, Sea-, and Space-Grant institution. Because of its research, the university has ongoing projects funded by NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the Office of Naval Research, and the National Science Foundation. It is the eighth largest city in Texas by population.
