The city of Pottsboro, Texas is located in northwest Grayson County in the state of Texas. The town is easily accessible by State Highway 289 and Farm to Market 120. State Highway 289 provides direct access to the Dallas metroplex and is less than two miles from the North Texas Regional Airport, Perrin Field, which has a 9,000-foot runway. The city is served by the Union Pacific rail line and offers multi-model public transportation options.

The city has a diverse population. In the 1920 census, Pottsboro had a population of 454 people. By 1925, it had two schools and a total enrollment of 300 students. By the mid-1940s, the population fell to 312 and by the late 1950s, it reached 383 people. In 1967, Pottsboro reported 30 businesses, while in 1990, it had a population of 1,177 and thirty businesses.
