Selah City is located in Yakima County, Washington, near the confluence of the Naches and Yakima rivers. The city's name derives from an Indian word that means "still water." Some early missionaries liked the name because of its resemblance to the biblical word. Selah soon became known for its apple orchards, and the city's apple juice was made famous.
