Eccles is a small town in Greater Manchester, England. There are a variety of things to do in Eccles. In the past, people in Eccles worked in textile mills. However, the textile industry was not thriving in the area during the 20th century. In 1940, the Bridgewater Foundry closed and was replaced by a Royal Ordnance Factory. This factory eventually closed in the 1980s, and now the area is a housing estate.

Eccles Theatre is a popular attraction for people in Eccles City. The theater opened in March and has already sold 320,000 tickets. Shows have included The Lion King, Bill Maher, David Sedaris, Kenny Rogers, and more. The theater draws a wide range of audiences from the city's suburban communities and even attracts people who drive a half-day to see a show.

Eccles joined a growing movement of business leaders who believed that the Depression was caused by income inequality and a lack of cash for consumers. Because of this, Eccles decided to create programs to reduce income inequality and rebalance the economy. These programs, which included public works projects, were funded by federal borrowing and progressive income taxes.

Eccles is close to Salford and the Lowry Centre arts complex. The Metrolink tram system connects the town to Manchester. Eccles is also close to Swinton and Walkden.
