Nimitz, West Virginia Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The United States Navy is based in the Pacific, but you'd never know it by the population of the area. In fact, the population of Nimitz City is more than five thousand people! That's quite a population. Nimitz is a small town with a lot of personality, with its own TV station, magazine, and mess. The area has several homeless camps, but no bars or nightclubs.

As you can see, Nimitz has a low crime rate compared to many of its surrounding areas. The violent crime rate is about one per thousand people in Nimitz. However, the violent crime rate is higher in the city's south part, while it is lower in the west area. While the violent crime map of Nimitz might look inflated, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be at risk for violence, as many crimes occur in the city's retail areas.

The Chester W. Nimitz Middle School sits on a city block between Loma Vista and Carmelita Avenue, between 60th and 61st Streets. Built in 1928, the school now houses a bilingual office and several Language Arts classes. The name of the school is named after the Admiral Chester William Nimitz. The school's name honors the man who was considered a symbol of strength during World War II.
