Natrona, Wyoming Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

If you're wondering if population and steets are accurate, you're not alone. The City of Natrona Heights has also participated in a regional homeless count, which is overseen by the Community Action Partnership of Natrona County. Counting homeless individuals takes place throughout the city, and various service providers organize into teams to complete the count. The teams focus on the shelter providers, as well as identifying key personnel. Some teams work at library locations and along the river.

Another important priority for Natrona City is the homeless, and the city has a few programs to assist people who are experiencing homelessness. First, the Natrona County Community Action Partnership oversees a transitional housing program for families. The Casper Housing Authority closed the program five years ago, leaving a waiting list of families to fill vacant spaces. They were able to repurpose a former school building and make it into a community housing center. As a result, they now have a waiting list of about ten families.

Other services for the homeless are provided by the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, Interfaith, and Community Action Partnership of Natrona County. Other local agencies, such as the Self Help Center and Wyoming Housing Network, provide services for the homeless. CDBG Carry-Over funding is being used to improve housing for the target population. However, they do not offer rental assistance, construction of new housing units, or acquisition of existing housing.
